The launch of the Ghana Music Xperience (GMX) streaming platform has been hailed as a game-changer for the country’s music industry.
The event, which took place at the De Iconic Events Centre in East Legon, saw a gathering of key stakeholders in the entertainment industry and government officials, including Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Tourism Minister Andrew Egyapa Mercer, MUSIGA President Bessa Simons, and Ghana Tourism Authority CEO Akwesi Agyeman.
Minister Egyapa Mercer emphasized the importance of music as a cultural medium for Ghana, highlighting the platform’s role in not only enhancing the creative arts sector but also showcasing Ghana’s rich cultural heritage to the world. He expressed his belief that GMX will help to boost the arts sector and engage global audiences.
With a range of innovative features such as early access to new releases, behind-the-scenes videos, artiste interviews, and historical Ghanaian content, GMX offers users a unique insight into the country’s musical evolution.
The platform’s AI-driven recommendation system tailors music suggestions to users’ preferences, while social media integration allows fans to connect and share playlists easily.
