The launch event was attended by notable figures in the industry, including Mr. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, the Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture; Bessa Simons, the President of MUSIGA; and Mr. Akwesi Agyeman, the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority. Rapper E.L, Zapp Mallet, Samini, Fred Kyei Mensah, and Kaywa were also in attendance.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, speaking as the special guest of honor, emphasized the importance of having a locally made music streaming app for Ghana. He officially launched GMX and described it as a historic moment for the country. The event also featured a thrilling performance by celebrated traditional artist King Ayisoba.
