The Minister’s support for initiatives that combine cultural heritage with sustainable development was reiterated in a speech read on her behalf by Mr. Justice Opoen of the Culture Department of the Ministry. This reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to promoting Ghana’s cultural diversity and empowering individuals through education and creative arts.

The conference also featured engaging speeches from notable scholars and leaders. Prof. Imhotep Alagidede, the Keynote Speaker, focused on the theme “Rastafari Education and Empowerment: Building Stronger Communities,” urging Rastafarians to reclaim their heritage and past greatness.

Dr. WiafeAkenteng, the Guest of Honor and CEO of the Natural Way Herbal Clinic, challenged the Rastafari community to address societal needs and offer solutions that bring economic benefits. This, he explained, would enhance the movement and its communities.

This event aims to celebrate freedom, promote unity, and generate revenue through various economic activities.

Various organizations, including the Ghana Culture Forum (GCF), Pan Africa Ghana, and others, sent solidarity messages during the conference. The Manager of the Rastafari Farming and Marketing Society (RFMS), Michael Klugah, discussed the cooperative farming venture the council is pursuing and invited like-minded individuals to invest in the initiative.

The conference concluded with a family fun day at Akuma Village, Rising Phoenix, where participants enjoyed music, and cultural displays, and shared ideas on building stronger communities. Before the event, the Rastafari Council collaborated with the Natural Way Herbal Clinic for a health screening exercise at the MUSIGA office in Accra.
