Ghanaian Afro rock band Dark Suburb is set to share their inspiring story on the EVIBES musical band series this weekend.
Founded on the concept of the Alkebulanian (African) masquerade culture and the skeleton, Dark Suburb strives to bring attention to social development issues affecting the deprived areas of society. By using music, storytelling, and art, the band aims to be a voice for urban slum dwellers and rural poor, addressing issues such as poverty, corruption, peace, and unity.
The EVIBES show, which focuses on celebrating the journeys of Ghanaian musical bands, is currently in its #MusicalBandSeries season. Producer Becky expressed the show’s dedication to exploring the humble beginnings, rise to fame, and challenges overcome by talented groups like Dark Suburb.
Through exclusive performances, behind-the-scenes access, and interviews, the show offers a unique perspective on the Ghanaian music scene. The goal is to evoke memories and shape the younger generation through the inspiring stories of successful bands.
Since its launch in November 2020, E Vibes has featured prominent personalities from various fields, including music, movies, and politics. Previous seasons have showcased icons like Amakye Dede, Mercy Asiedu, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, and many others.
