Accra, Ghana – Citi FM and Channel One TV have been honored with the esteemed Tourism-Oriented Media of the Year award at the 2024 National Tourism Awards ceremony.
The event, organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority, aims to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding contributions to the country’s tourism sector.
The awards ceremony, which took place at the Osu Castle Garden in Accra on Friday, October 25, was themed “Celebrating Innovation and Recognizing Excellence in Ghana’s Tourism Sector.”
Over 30 awards were presented during the ceremony, spanning various categories such as Accommodation facilities, Food and Beverage, Entertainment establishments, Travel Trade Services, Media, Events, and Corporate Organizations.
Among the many categories, Citi FM and Channel One TV stood out as the top choice for Tourism-Oriented Media, receiving a plaque and a citation for their exceptional work in promoting and developing tourism in Ghana.
The citation commended the media house for their reliability, timeliness, professionalism, and trustworthiness in covering numerous tourism activities.
The Ghana Tourism Authority expressed its gratitude for the contributions made by Citi FM and Channel One TV in the growth and promotion of tourism.
They praised the media outlets for their captivating content, creativity, and commitment to destination marketing, stating that they have set a high standard in the tourism media landscape.
The Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture, Mr. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Mark Okraku Mantey, and the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman, were among the dignitaries present at the event.
Contemporary Highlife musician, Kwabena Kwabena, also entertained the audience with a stellar performance.
