Chief One, others thrill fans at Kpando concert

Some of the Volta Region’s top musical acts, including Chief One, showcased their talent at the launch of a new musical group dedicated to promoting African music globally.

The group, known as “The Black Music Appreciation Collective Africa” (BMACA), was inaugurated in Kpando, Volta Region, to the delight of hundreds of music enthusiasts in attendance at the event held at Torgbuiga Dagadu’s palace.

Chief One wowed the audience with his hit songs, and other guest artistes also took the stage, treating the crowd to a memorable mini concert that lasted for hours.

BMACA is made up of music lovers and artistes from all 54 African countries. Its aim is to unite Africans through music and elevate the continent’s music industry on a global stage.

Okpekpewuokpe Torgbuiga Dagadu IX, Paramount Chief of the Akpini State, officiated the launch of the Association and urged the executives to remain focused on their objectives. Additionally, Madam Nancy Herkul, National President of BMACA International, and co-founder Mr. Victor Akpene Ahiakpong, donated items to the elderly in the Kpando Municipality during the event.

The musical concert also featured performances by the Kpando International Borborbor group and the Aloryi Boborbor group. Annabelle Bayitse, the eight-year-old winner of the Akpini Kids talent show, also showcased her talent at the event.

Chief One, born Michael Ivan Nyagamagu, is a long-standing fixture in the Ghanaian music scene, known for his work in Hiphop/HipLife.

With his distinct voice and style, as well as his catchphrase “What Is That?”, Chief One has gained popularity with hit songs like “Du Agbe”, “Wotelewoea”, “Catwalk”, “Toyota”, and “E Go Better”. He was even nominated for Best New Artiste of the Year at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
