Akisi Ackah, the Director of Marketing at GMX Multimedia, has assured that the work on the newly-launched Ghanaian-owned music streaming platform, GMX, will not be affected by any change in government.
In an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie, Ackah emphasized that GMX Multimedia works closely with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and this collaboration will continue regardless of which party is in power.
She also mentioned that they have engaged with other apolitical agencies such as GAPI, MUSIGA, and GHAMRO for support.
GMX, a music streaming platform launched in Accra on October 30, 2024, is owned by GMX Multimedia and designed by Omni Strategies. It operates with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, had previously announced the government’s partnership with a private enterprise to launch the GMX app during a meeting with creatives.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his commitment to boosting the music business in Ghana through this collaboration.
