Ghanaian dancehall sensation Shatta Wale has opened up about the ongoing legal battle with his former manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod.
In an exclusive interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, the “Already” hitmaker revealed that Bullgod had taken him to court to enforce an out-of-court settlement agreement they had reached almost a year ago following a defamation lawsuit.
According to Shatta Wale, they had agreed on a settlement outside of court, but he had not yet fulfilled his end of the deal.
When asked why he had not made the payment, Shatta Wale explained that Bullgod was not available when his team tried to deliver the money.
He also implied that Bullgod’s actions were motivated by malice, claiming that Bullgod enjoys litigation because his house is located next to a law court.
The legal dispute between Shatta Wale and Bullgod dates back to the last quarter of 2022 when Bullgod sued the artist for defamation. This was after Shatta Wale made threats to reveal supposed secrets about the late artiste manager, Fennec Okyere, among other issues.
Fast forward to March 2023, lawyers for both parties agreed to settle the defamation case out of court.
