The Blackstar Experience, a flagship Culture, Arts, and Tourism brand by the NDC, is set to redefine and affirm the Ghanaian identity, attract investments, create new jobs, and boost tourism.
Rex Owusu Marfo, the Coordinator of the Blackstar Experience at the Office of the President, shared some of the objectives of the secretariat during an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z.
Marfo, popularly known as Rex Omar in music circles, emphasized the importance of collaborating with various government institutions to achieve the aims of the Blackstar Experience program. Job creation and youth empowerment are some of the focal points in their strategy.
“We will be responsible for strategic vision and framework related to branding and marketing initiatives, collaborative partnerships, investment mobilization, job creation, and youth empowerment,” Marfo explained.
He highlighted the collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment for initiatives related to job creation and youth empowerment, as well as working with the Ministry of Tourism for brand development and other activities.
Additionally, Marfo mentioned that infrastructural projects under the Blackstar Experience will involve mobilizing investment and partnering with private investors through Public Private Partnership.
The Blackstar Experience program will encompass year-round celebrations in various entertainment, artistic, and educational disciplines to showcase Ghanaian culture and identity.
