Bessa Simons gets ‘Music Legend’ honour at 7th Ghana Business Awards

The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, has added another accolade to his long list of achievements.

He was recently honored with the title of Music Legend at the 7th Ghana Business Awards. The prestigious event took place at the luxurious Kempinski Hotel on Saturday, October 28, 2024.

This recognition is a testament to Simons’ exceptional contributions to the music industry and his tireless efforts to promote Ghanaian music on both local and international platforms.

Upon receiving the award, Bessa Simons expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am highly elated by the honor and I thank the organizers for this recognition. I dedicate it to the members of MUSIGA.”

This isn’t the first time the title of Music Legend has been bestowed upon a deserving individual. Last year, renowned artist Amandzeba Nat Brew received the same honor, highlighting the legacy of excellence within Ghana’s vibrant music scene.

Aside from celebrating the achievements of outstanding individuals like Bessa Simons, the 7th Ghana Business Awards also recognized top business leaders and innovators from various sectors.

These winners exemplify excellence and dedication to national development, making significant contributions to the growth and prosperity of Ghana’s business landscape.

During the event, the Minister of Tourism Arts, and Culture, Hon Egyapa Mercer, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of the tourism, arts, and culture sector.

He urged industry leaders to focus on this sector due to its potential for wealth creation and job opportunities.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Globe Productions, Latif Abubakar, also took the opportunity to express his appreciation to the business community for their continued support of the awards scheme.

The Ghana Business Awards aims to showcase excellence within the Ghanaian business community and acknowledge the hard work and dedication of industry leaders.
