Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and acclaimed actor Idris Elba came together to discuss the future of financial inclusion for Ghanaian creatives.
Their dialogue, which took place at the Jubilee House on February 15, 2024, aimed to explore ways to unlock the potential of Africa’s vibrant creative arts scene by integrating Ghanaian artistes seamlessly into the global financial ecosystem.
During the discussion, it was revealed that a new financial system powered by blockchain technology is being considered. This innovative solution aims to empower African artistes by simplifying and securing global payments for their work, regardless of location or platform.
Expressing confidence in the system’s potential, Bawumia highlighted Ghana’s advanced digital payments infrastructure as a fundamental advantage in the integration process.
Bawumia also mentioned that the new system, set to be launched later this year, will pave the way for Ghanaian creatives to thrive on the global stage.
The Vice President commended Idris Elba’s efforts in connecting African creatives with the global market.
