Africa’s largest gathering of creative industry professionals, CANEX WKND, is set to take place from October 16-19, 2024, in Algiers, Algeria. The event, under the theme “One People, United in Culture, Creating for the World,” aims to connect Global Africa and elevate African creatives on the global stage.
CANEX WKND 2024 will bring together key creative industry stakeholders from across the continent and diaspora. The event will engage creatives, industry experts, government agencies, and investors to brainstorm and implement strategies to overcome the challenges facing Africa’s cultural and creative industries.
The event will feature diverse conversations, networking opportunities, film screenings, a fashion show, market exhibitions, and live performances. CANEX WKND promises to be a vibrant and dynamic creative business-to-business gathering.
The highlight of the event will be the CANEX Concert on October 17, 2024, exclusively for registered CANEX WKND delegates. The concert will feature performances by South African Amapiano legends Scorpion Kings, Kenyan rising star Sofiya Nzau, and Tuareg music collective Tinariwen.
Also gracing the stage will be Benin-born and Nigerian superstar Ayra Starr, known for her distinctive voice in the alternative side of Afrobeats. Starr made history as the youngest African female artist to surpass 100 million views on a single video on YouTube.
The CANEX WKND Concert is part of the larger CANEX WKND 2024 program that aims to bring together thousands of creative and cultural industry practitioners in Algiers, Algeria. Attendance is free, and interested individuals can register for the event on the CANEX WKND website.
