Tranmere Rovers joint owner Mark Palios has hinted at a potential takeover of the League Two club, with reports suggesting rapper A$AP Rocky could be involved in the deal.
The 36-year-old musician, known for his relationship with pop star Rihanna, is said to be part of an investment group led by celebrity lawyer Joe Tacopina looking to purchase an 80% stake in the club.
Palios, who has been seeking investment in the club for nearly two years, expressed the need for a deal to be concluded “ASAP.” While he did not directly confirm A$AP Rocky’s involvement, he acknowledged the interest from the investment group.
Tacopina, who has previous ownership experience with Italian clubs, has been actively involved in the potential takeover and has attended Tranmere Rovers matches.
Palios emphasized the interest in tapping into the American marketplace for investment, following the trend of North American celebrities investing in English football clubs.
The potential involvement of A$AP Rocky in the Tranmere Rovers takeover adds an intriguing element to the deal.
With the club’s history of promotions and relegations in recent years, the partnership with Tacopina and possibly the rapper could bring new opportunities for growth and development.
