Animaxfyb Studios celebrates 10th anniversary

Animaxfyb Studios, a prominent animation and visual effects studio based in Accra, Ghana, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in the entertainment industry.

The milestone event took place at the studio’s premises in Adjiringanor on December 15, 2024.

The anniversary festivities kicked off with a screening of Animaxfyb Studios’ acclaimed animation film titled “Jabari” on December 11, 2024, at the British Council in Accra.

“Jabari” has received numerous accolades, including Best Animation at the African Movie Academy Awards and the Liberia Film Awards. It has also been featured at prestigious international film festivals such as the New York African International Film Festival and Film Africa in London.

The celebration continued with a panel discussion on the evolution of animation as a global genre and its significance in Africa’s creative landscape.

The discussion also delved into the opportunities and challenges faced by Ghanaian animators, emphasizing the importance of storytelling and sound engineering in creating compelling animated content.

On the night of December 15, 2024, dignitaries from the diplomatic corps gathered to witness the opening of Animaxfyb’s exhibition, showcasing 10 years of their cinematic journey.

The studio, founded by Francis Y. Brown, aims to create and export authentic African content that highlights African stories and imagination on both local and global platforms.

Francis Y. Brown, the founder and director of AnimaxFYB Studios, is a seasoned filmmaker with over a decade of experience in the audiovisual industry.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) and has received numerous awards for his outstanding work in animation and filmmaking.

Brown’s contributions to the African animation industry have been widely recognized, with accolades such as being named one of the top African animators by Face2Face Africa and Africa Vibes Magazine.

His debut project, “Mmofra Channel,” a children’s content series, was even picked up by Amazon Prime, making him the first African animation producer to achieve this milestone.
