The Chief Executive of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Akwasi Agyeman, has elaborated on how the proposed Travel Protocol Services by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be advantageous to Ghanaian creatives.
During Joy FM’s Manifesto Debate on Creative Economy, Agyeman emphasized that while the concept is not new, it aims to organize it effectively to serve its purpose.
Agyeman highlighted that the Travel Protocol Services will not only involve visas but also offer local transportation services and facilitate meetings with authorities in other countries.
This initiative aligns with the NPP’s 2024 manifesto promises for the creative industry, emphasizing the importance of providing travel protocol services to individuals in the Cultural and Creative industries.
Moreover, the NPP has pledged to implement tax incentives, including a flat tax, to encourage private sector investments in sports, tourism, and creative arts facilities.
They also plan to introduce an e-visa policy for international visitors to Ghana, making visa acquisition faster and more convenient.
Additionally, the party aims to establish a visa-free policy for nationals of African and Caribbean countries visiting Ghana and develop a streaming and digital management platform for Ghanaian content developers in the creative arts sector.
The Travel Protocol Service policy is a significant component of the NPP’s efforts to bolster the creative industry and enhance opportunities for Ghanaian creatives on the global stage.
