This December, Accra, Ghana will host the inaugural African Music Week (AMW) to showcase the vibrant rhythms of African music on a global stage.
AMW Accra aims to elevate African talent, foster international collaborations, and redefine the music and cultural landscape of the continent.
The event, scheduled to take place at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Conference Room, will bring together a diverse array of artists, music professionals, policymakers, and cultural enthusiasts from across the globe.
It will not only shine a spotlight on Ghana’s thriving music scene but also serve as a platform for fostering international partnerships and highlighting the immense potential of the African music industry.
Under the theme “Bridging Continents Through Music and Culture,” AMW Accra will provide a forum for African and diaspora artists to connect with global audiences, establish collaborations, and explore new markets.
Building on the success of AMW’s Toronto edition, which has garnered international acclaim, the event aims to position African artists as key players in the global music industry.
Scheduled program highlights include panel discussions on leveraging music tourism for economic growth, showcase performances featuring top Ghanaian artists, and networking sessions to connect artists with industry stakeholders, investors, and fans.
The event will also coincide with Ghana’s “Year of Return” festivities, offering maximum exposure to both local and international audiences.
Beyond promoting music, AMW Accra seeks to facilitate lasting partnerships between African and international music markets, fostering a more inclusive and dynamic global music ecosystem.
The event invites music lovers, industry professionals, and cultural enthusiasts to be part of this historic occasion at the GIPC Conference Room on December 27, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Featured speakers at the event include industry leaders such as Khadijat El-Alawa, Ruddy Kwakye, Bola Ray, and Yoofi Grant.
African Music Week Accra is poised to strengthen cultural and economic ties between Ghana and Canada, empower artists, and position Ghana as a creative powerhouse on the global stage. This launch sets the stage for the main African Music Week Festival in 2025.
African Music Week (AMW) is an international platform dedicated to connecting African and global artists, industry leaders, and audiences. AMW Accra, an extension of the Toronto-based AMW, serves as a strategic hub for cultural exchange, innovation, and economic growth within the music industry.
