The 11th edition of the African Legends Night was a vibrant celebration of African music held at the Grand Arena in Accra on October 5.
The event featured unforgettable performances from music legends such as Yvonne Chaka Chaka, George Jahraa, Okyeame Kwame, and Adane Best, which delighted both the artists and enthusiastic fans in attendance.
Organized by Global Media Alliance, the event was a testament to the enduring legacy of African music. Hosted by Happy FM’s Akua Sika and Comedian Foster Romanus, the night brought together a lineup of legendary artists who delivered thrilling performances that captivated the audience.
The evening kicked off with a dynamic performance by the Patchbay Band, setting the tone for the night with their live music and impeccable rhythms. Adane Best, known for his storytelling and melodies, wowed the crowd with hits like “Gyata Bi” and even brought a human lion on stage for a theatrical touch.
George Jahraa, with over 30 years in the music industry, kept the energy high with his performance, showcasing why he is a force in African music. The “Princess of Africa,” Yvonne Chaka Chaka, charmed the audience with hits like “Thank You Mr. DJ” and “Umqombothi,” engaging everyone in a memorable sing-along.
Okyeame Kwame, known as the “Rap Doctor,” wrapped up the evening with his lyrical prowess and smooth delivery, performing hits like “Woara” and “Made in Ghana.” Each performer was honored and inducted into the prestigious African Legends Hall of Fame.
As the night ended on a high note, CEO of Global Media Alliance, Ernest Boateng, emphasized the importance of events like African Legends Night in celebrating the icons who have shaped African culture. The event was sponsored by Consolidated Bank Ghana, Ghana Tourism Authority, and supported by various brands.
