Africa Arts Network (AAN) has announced the highly anticipated return of the stage play IN THE CHEST OF A WOMAN, set to take place on February 28th, March 1st, and 2nd, 2025. The performances will be held at the National Theatre in Accra, with shows at 4 PM and 8 PM each day.
Last year, IN THE CHEST OF A WOMAN received rave reviews from audiences, who were captivated by its powerful storytelling, emotional performances by the cast, and immersive production design. The play’s impact extended beyond its viewers, impressing industry professionals and arts advocates alike.
Written by the late Efo Kodjo Mawugbe and directed by Ken Fiati, IN THE CHEST OF A WOMAN delves into themes of gender, power, and identity, challenging societal norms while celebrating women’s resilience. It explores topics such as leadership, legacy, and equality, making it a must-see for both new and returning audiences.
To commemorate International Women’s Day, this production honors the strength, leadership, and contributions of women in society. Special Guests of Honour for the event include Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana’s first female Vice President, and Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts.
