Afreximbank has introduced the 2024 CANEX Deal Room, a platform created to connect creatives with financiers and investors.
This initiative is aimed at promoting the development and expansion of the creative and cultural industries in Africa and the diaspora.
Through the CANEX Deal Room, Afreximbank will offer entrepreneurs in the creative sector the opportunity to present viable projects and opportunities to financiers and investors.
The bank and its affiliated financial institutions will consider debt and equity financing for transactions in various segments such as film and television, music, franchising, fashion, and infrastructure for the creative industry.
This announcement comes just before the CANEX WKND 2024, which is set to be Africa’s largest gathering of creative industry professionals.
The event will take place from October 16-19, 2024, in Algiers, Algeria, and will build on the success of previous editions, including CANEX at IATF2023 in Cairo.
To be eligible for the CANEX Deal Room, applicants must fulfill specific criteria, including being Africa-based enterprises with at least 25% African ownership, having a minimum operating history of 3 years, and employing at least 50% African talent.
Proposals must be submitted by October 1, 2024, to be considered, as late submissions will not be accepted.
Registration for CANEX WKND 2024 is free and open now. For more information and to submit your proposal, visit the official website.
The event is hosted by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union Commission, the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, and the Government of Algeria.
This initiative by Afreximbank demonstrates a commitment to supporting and empowering the creative industry in Africa, providing a platform for creatives to showcase their talent and secure investment opportunities.
