Ghanaian actor John Bredu Peasah, known for his role as Drogba in the popular TV series YOLO, is currently facing health challenges.
Peasah has been battling a demyelinating disease for the past two years, which has led to the decision to seek medical treatment abroad as per his doctors’ advice.
In a recent Instagram post on March 8, 2024, Peasah expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support he has received from fans and well-wishers since his diagnosis.
He assured his followers that he would keep them updated on his treatment journey and asked for their continued support during this difficult time.
Peasah wrote, “It has been a while since you’ve heard from me due to some challenges with my treatment and the need to seek medical care abroad as recommended by my doctors.
I want to thank everyone who has supported me up to this point. Your concern and support mean the world to me.”
The actor’s health issues became public knowledge in March 2024 when it was revealed that he was suffering from demyelination, a condition that affects the nervous system and can impact vision, coordination, and sensation. Peasah’s sister, Hannah Mensah, shared that his health problems began during the final season of YOLO.
Peasah has received considerable support from various individuals, including a visit and financial contributions from Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, and close friends. A fundraising campaign has also been launched to assist with the costs of his medical treatment abroad.
