Security is tight at the Asokore Mampong District Court in Kumasi today as actor Lil Win is expected to appear before the court following a tragic accident that claimed the life of a 3-year-old boy last week.

Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, was arrested by the police at the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Manhyia Divisional Police Command this morning. He was taken into custody shortly after being discharged from the hospital.

The family of the deceased has been vocal in their demand for justice for their loss. The police cited Lil Win’s ill health as the reason for the delay in apprehending him. He was picked up from the emergency unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital early this morning.

Lil Win was seen wearing a neck collar at the MTTD charge office while writing his statement. Despite the lack of specific details about the accident and his involvement, he was held at the Manhyia Divisional Police Command for further investigation.

Despite sustaining injuries, Lil Win still attended his movie premiere on the day of the accident. His management later issued a press statement regarding the incident, but it received backlash for being insensitive to the grieving family.

Critics have called out the police for allegedly relaxing the arrest rules due to Lil Win’s social status. The case is ongoing, and Lil Win’s court appearance is awaited with bated breath.
