Renowned media personality and creative entrepreneur, Kofi Okyere-Darko, also known as KOD, has been appointed as one of the Spokespersons for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the Creative Arts sector.
Joining him are actress and Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central Constituency, Ebi Bright, and Board Chairman of Ghana Music Right Organisation (GHAMRO), Rex Owusu Marfo, popularly known as Rex Omar.
This new appointment comes on the heels of the official launch of the NDC’s Manifesto for the 2024 general election, which took place on Saturday in Winneba, Central Region.
As part of the party’s strategy to communicate its vision in the creative arts sector, various personalities have been appointed as sectoral spokespersons.
The trio of KOD, Ebi Bright, and Rex Omar have been tasked with engaging the media to further explain the NDC’s vision for the creative arts sector to the Ghanaian public.
One of the key promises outlined in the manifesto is the creation and promotion of ‘The Black Star Experience’ as Ghana’s flagship Culture, Arts, and Tourism brand, in a bid to boost the economy in the sector and position Ghana as a preferred tourism destination.
The Black Star Experience is set to offer year-round celebrations in various entertainment, artistic, and educational disciplines, aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage and talent present in Ghana.
This initiative is expected to contribute to the development and growth of the creative arts space in the country.
