Ghanaian rapper Medikal has recently shared the details surrounding his separation from Fella Makafui, shedding light on the issues that led to their split after his announcement at the Indigo O2 Concert.
In a social media post on May 18, 2024, Medikal delved into the troubles in their relationship, despite initially hesitating to go public due to family connections. The rapper felt it was necessary to present his side of the story as tensions between them escalated.
One of the major concerns highlighted by Medikal was the lack of privacy in their home, exacerbated by constant visits from Fella’s relatives and friends. He specifically mentioned Fella’s cousin Bless, who lived with them for two years, and Fella’s mother, who frequently dropped by unannounced, disregarding his presence.
A significant disagreement arose when Fella decided to undergo a tummy tuck surgery for her business, a decision that Medikal opposed. Despite his reservations, he ended up financing the procedure and its associated costs, totaling over $25,000, to support her happiness.
Medikal also made allegations of physical assault and property damage against Fella, detailing instances where she disrupted gatherings, threw tea at him, and damaged their electronic devices. He also recounted an incident where she destroyed laptops in his studio and assaulted him with hangers.
The rapper further disclosed an incident involving Fella’s undisclosed trip to Dubai, where she reportedly threw her wedding ring into a river and returned home with an emergency contraceptive. He also expressed frustration over Fella’s reluctance to cook, leading him to rely on alternative sources for meals during half of their four-year marriage.
Medikal voiced concerns about Fella’s strained relations with his family, citing her perceived bias towards him as a source of conflict with his mother and sister. Additionally, he raised issues regarding Fella’s admiration for certain TV personalities, which he believed influenced her towards an extravagant lifestyle and risky behaviors.
Amidst accusations of ungratefulness and a desire for singleness, Medikal reminisced about his efforts to be a supportive husband, providing both financial and emotional support throughout their marriage.
