Former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s administration cannot be compared to that of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, according to actor Kwaku Manu.
In an interview, Kwaku Manu asserted that although Kufuor’s government performed well economically by stabilizing the exchange rate at $1 to GHC1, Nkrumah’s achievements in infrastructure development and industrialization far outweigh that.
He emphasized that Nkrumah’s vision and impact on Ghana’s development cannot be overlooked or underestimated.
Kwaku Manu’s remarks come at a time when there is ongoing debate and comparisons between past and present administrations in Ghana.
Many have touted Kufuor’s economic achievements during his tenure, while others argue that Nkrumah’s legacy still resonates in the country’s infrastructure and industrial sectors.
Regardless of the differing opinions, Kwaku Manu’s perspective sheds light on the unique contributions of each leader and the need to appreciate their respective legacies in Ghana’s development history.
