Outspoken media personality and musician, Blakk Rasta, has stirred up controversy by urging Ghanaians not to praise the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah.
Blakk Rasta believes that John Kumah, who recently passed away, played a detrimental role in contributing to the economic hardships faced by ordinary Ghanaians during President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
In a bold statement, Blakk Rasta made it clear that he does not believe in eulogizing individuals who did not have a positive impact while they were alive.
He pointed to President Akufo-Addo’s tribute to John Kumah as further evidence of the late minister’s negative influence on the nation’s economy.
Despite the potential discomfort for John Kumah’s family, Blakk Rasta emphasized that it is important to acknowledge the harm caused by the late minister.
He stated, “He is undeserving of praise, as he, under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, caused enough hardship. I am sorry to the family, but he caused financial hardship to Ghanaians.”
This controversial stance taken by Blakk Rasta has sparked debate among Ghanaians, with some supporting his bold statements while others criticize his lack of sensitivity towards the deceased.
The issue of how to remember and honor public figures who have passed away remains a divisive topic in the country.
