Renowned actor and farmer John Dumelo has praised former President John Mahama for his dedication to Ghana’s Creative Industry.
Speaking on behalf of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dumelo revealed that the party would soon unveil comprehensive plans for the sector.
Dumelo emphasized the significant role of the Creative Industry during elections, noting its influential bloc.
He stated, “Former President John has the Creative Industry at heart. Why is it that when it comes to elections they will want to involve a lot of creative people? Because they know we are a powerful block. Once we say we are going this way we do that together.”
The actor hinted at forthcoming manifesto details, promising a thorough outline of strategies for the Creative Act. He also praised the entrepreneurial spirit of Ghanaian youth, expressing his desire to support their ambitions. “People want to be the boss, people want to own businesses. I feel the youth these days are more entrepreneurial,” Dumelo remarked.
In addition to his contributions to the Creative Industry, Dumelo disclosed offering 200 scholarships across his constituency, with an overwhelming 4,000 applications received.
These scholarships have empowered students from institutions like GIMPA, Legon, and UPSA, leading to placements in diverse sectors such as banking, oil and gas, and hospitality.
