Islam has made me a better woman, always at peace – Akuapem Poloo

Actress and social media influencer, Akuapem Poloo, recently made a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca to perform Umrah (lesser Hajj) and she is still in awe of the experience.

Known also by her Islamic name, Haniya, Akuapem Poloo described Islam as beautiful and shared her excitement about touching the holy Kaaba and performing Safah and Marwa.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Akuapem Poloo expressed her overwhelming joy and relief at seeing the sacred Kaaba.

Despite the massive crowd, she managed to touch the Kaaba seven times and complete the rituals. She credited Islam for changing her way of life, stating that she no longer consumes alcohol and has become a better mother to her son.

Reflecting on her journey to Islam two years ago, Akuapem Poloo acknowledged the initial struggles she faced with adapting to Islamic practices. However, with determination and support from Islamic leaders and friends, she has embraced the religion wholeheartedly.

Akuapem Poloo also expressed gratitude to Allah, Chief Imam Sheikh Usman Sharubutu, and Alhaji Abdul Salam for their roles in her conversion to Islam and for making her Umrah experience possible.

She emphasized the positive impact that Islam has had on her life, bringing her peace and opening doors in both her personal and professional endeavors.
