Renowned Master of Ceremony and entertainment pundit Portfolio has recently expressed concerns about the decline in music concert bookings for Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie.
Despite Sarkodie’s status as a BET award-winning artist, Portfolio noted that he has not been seen performing at many shows aside from those he organizes himself.
In a social media post on April 15, Portfolio raised questions about whether Sarkodie is being more selective about the shows he accepts or if event organizers are struggling to meet his performance fees.
The post read, “I’ve been concerned about KING Sarkodie for some time now. Is he turning down offers or are they simply not coming his way? Is he being choosy or are promoters struggling to afford him? He rarely features at shows other than his own concerts and tours.”
Sarkodie, who is recognized as one of Africa’s most decorated rappers with over a decade of experience in the industry, has received numerous international accolades.
Recently, he was honored as the Artist of the Decade at the Ghana Music Awards, a prestigious title previously held by legendary artist Kwadwo Antwi.
