US-based DJ and Musician Ratchet Rome recently shared his surprise at not knowing about Ghanaian Dancehall artist Stonebwoy earlier, despite his significant talent and fame in the music industry.
During an interview with Becky on EVIBES in Baltimore, US, Rome expressed his admiration for Stonebwoy, particularly after hearing about him during his 5th Dimension Album Tour.
Ratchet Rome also mentioned his appreciation for other African artists such as Davido and Burna Boy, highlighting the rich pool of musical talent across the continent.
He shared, “I listened to Davido early on, Burna Boy. I got put on to Stonebwoy towards the end of the year. I heard about him on his 5th Dimension tour. I was surprised I didn’t know about him and he was so big and he is talented. There are artists all over Africa doing big things and Ghana is definitely one of the places I want to go to or make my way over there.”
Known for his unique song selection spanning various genres and time frames, Ratchet Rome is also recognized for his smooth transitions and engaging dance moves that often bring him out of the DJ booth to join the crowd. Additionally, he is a member of the 92Q Jamz radio station as an on-air personality.
