Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay has opened up about her experience with cyberbullying and the challenges she faces on social media.

In a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Wendy Shay revealed that she rarely responds to comments and direct messages on social media due to the constant threats and negativity she receives.

“I faced a lot of backlash when I came into the industry. You know I had death threats and all of that,” she shared during the interview. Wendy Shay explained that she made a conscious decision to avoid reading social media messages in order to protect her mental health.

However, this decision had its drawbacks as Wendy Shay missed out on some important messages, including a music deal with a foreign artist who wanted to feature her. “I got a message from Trilla, and that time it was new and they wanted to put me on, and I missed it,” she admitted.

Despite the challenges she faces online, Wendy Shay remains resilient and focused on her music career. She hinted at a potential partnership with an American record label and refused to disclose whether she would be leaving or extending her contract with Ruff Town Records.

When asked about her future plans, Wendy Shay stated, “That’s something that is going to be between Ruff Town Records and me. Until further notice, let’s just keep it like that. As to whether we will have a partnership, it would be up to us, and up to me as an artist.”
