Ghanaian rapper Amerado has shed light on the timing of his latest release, ‘Date Rush’, following the success of King Paluta’s ‘Makoma’ hit song.
Some social media users had suggested that Amerado should have waited for King Paluta’s song to gain more traction before dropping his own. However, Amerado clarified in an interview with Joy FM’s Kwame Dadzie on Showbiz A-Z that there was a plan in place for both releases.
According to Amerado, he and his team had originally planned to drop a song featuring King Paluta on the same day that ‘Makoma’ was released. Despite the potential competition, they decided to stick to their schedule and release ‘Date Rush’ a week later.
Amerado emphasized that he couldn’t alter his plans based on the release schedules of other artists, stating, “The fact that ‘Makoma’ took over doesn’t mean that it should mess up my plans.” He also pointed out that ‘Date Rush’ has garnered significant interactions on TikTok, proving its success.
The rapper also mentioned the release of his 5-track EP titled ‘The Gold Coin’. With this latest project, Amerado continues to showcase his lyrical prowess and versatility in the Ghanaian music scene.
