Ghanaian musician and social media personality Deborah Vanessa, popularly known as Sister Derby, has recently made headlines for addressing the ongoing feud with Sam George, the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram.

In a candid interview with YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon, Sister Derby discussed her frustration over the claims of friendship with Sam George during her time at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She clarified that while she does not hold any ill will towards Sam George, she accused him of exploiting anti-LGBT+ sentiments for political gain.

Sister Derby also shed light on her recent visit to North Legon Little Angels School, where she was unexpectedly bombarded with questions about LGBTQ issues by students during a career day talk. She denied accusations of indoctrination, emphasizing that she was invited to speak on career day and not to promote any agenda.

Addressing allegations that she had advised a male student to pursue a same-sex relationship with another male student, Sister Derby dismissed such claims as lies. She refuted all allegations against her and stressed the lack of evidence supporting the accusations.

The interview with Sister Derby comes at a time when Ghana is facing debates over the passing of a bill criminalizing LGBT+ activities in the country, awaiting the president’s approval.
