Former Big Brother Naija contestant Doyin David recently opened up about her views on relationships and marriage in a candid interview with Olufemi Daniel.
In the interview, Doyin highlighted the importance of companionship, sharing that her main goal in dating is to find a lifelong partner with whom she can create meaningful memories.
While recognizing the role of intimacy in relationships, Doyin made it clear that physical intimacy is not her sole focus.
She expressed her openness to long-term relationships, even if they don’t necessarily lead to marriage, emphasizing the significance of genuine connection and friendship in sustaining a lasting bond.
Doyin stressed that, while legal marriage is important, her ultimate desire is to find a lifelong companion, placing a higher value on emotional connection over formalities.
“Sex is a part of companionship, isn’t it? But it’s not the primary reason I date. I seek companionship, not just marriage.
If it doesn’t end in marriage, that’s okay; we still enjoy our time together. But if it does, then great – I’m open to a lifelong partnership even if marriage isn’t in the cards,” she shared.
Doyin also shared her perspective on marriage, noting that, for her, it’s not just about signing papers. While acknowledging the importance of legal marriage, she emphasized that companionship is what holds greater significance for her.
Her ultimate desire is to have a lifelong companion, whether or not they are legally married.
“I simply desire to have someone who will be my partner for life, whether we’re legally married or not,” Doyin added.
