Kofi Kinaata, a prominent figure in the Highlife music scene, recently opened up about his journey from being a talented footballer to a successful musician.
The surprising revelation was made during an interview on Citi TV’s “The Chat” with host Ekow Koomson.
Hailing from Takoradi, Kofi Kinaata shared that his football dreams were hampered by financial constraints, particularly the high cost of football boots.
He candidly admitted, “Money for boots was the main problem…but with music, you don’t need to buy a microphone before you can sing…You just sing then you pass it on to the owner.” This realization led him to pursue music as a career path.
The accessibility and affordability of music as an art form became a pivotal factor in Kofi Kinaata’s decision to transition from football to music. His story serves as inspiration to many aspiring artists who may be facing similar challenges in their pursuit of their dreams.
