Ghanaian musician Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, recently spoke out against the way media personalities in Ghana cover celebrities.
During an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat, he expressed his frustration with the media’s tendency to focus on artists’ personal lives rather than highlighting their positive contributions to society.
Medikal criticized the way some media figures ask invasive questions of musicians while treating politicians with more respect. He believes that this lack of respect for musicians leads to a negative portrayal of the music industry in Ghana.
According to Medikal, the media’s focus on controversies and negative aspects of the music business hinders its growth and success. He stressed the importance of promoting the positive aspects of the music industry in order to help it thrive.
The musician called for a shift in how the media covers celebrities, urging them to highlight the positive contributions of artists and promote the music business in a more positive light.
Medikal believes that such a change in focus would benefit the Ghanaian music scene and help it reach new heights of success.
