Ghanaian Hiplife artist Gasmilla took charge of a beach cleanup initiative dubbed “Falefale” on Wednesday, April 17th, in collaboration with students from Jamestown.
The main objective of the project was to not only clean up the beach but also educate the young participants on environmental issues, following the age-old adage of “Train a child in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it.”
Gasmilla emphasized the importance of instilling good sanitation habits in children today, as he believes this will lead to them becoming more environmentally conscious adults in the future.
By involving the youngsters in the cleanup exercise, he aimed to make the process enjoyable while also imparting knowledge about waste sorting and recycling.
This hands-on experience allowed the children to actively participate in making a positive impact on their environment while learning valuable lessons about sustainability.
Gasmilla’s leadership in organizing such an event showcases his dedication to both the local community and the preservation of Ghana’s natural beauty.
