Ghanaian rapper D-Black has recently shared his experience of being scammed by the infamous Dr. UN awards.
The Global Blueprint Excellence Award scheme, organized by Kwame Owusu Fordjour, also known as Dr. UN, turned out to be a complete hoax.
In the latest episode of his show, “Uncut with D-Black,” the rapper revealed how he received a professional-looking email inviting him to the awards night as a supposed winner.
He almost attended the event with his mother, believing in the prestige associated with the United Nations. However, he realized it was a scam when he discovered that he had only seven invitations for his eight-person crew.
Upon arriving at the event grounds, D-Black noticed colleague rapper Sarkodie had also fallen for the scheme. Despite sensing something was off during Dr. UN’s speech, he ended up receiving a fake award and taking pictures at the ceremony.
The rapper expressed his disappointment in being misled and emphasized that even respected individuals like chiefs and Daughters of Glorious Jesus were present at the event, adding credibility to the fake awards.
D-Black concluded by calling Dr. UN a “full-blown scammer” and cautioned others to be wary of such schemes.
It is worth noting that Sarkodie and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana were also victims of what is considered Ghana’s biggest fake award scheme.
