Daughter Berniece, portrayed by Danielle Deadwyler, has a deep connection to the piano as a reminder of their ancestors’ struggles, while her brother Boy Willie, played by John David Washington, wants to sell it to purchase land.
The Washington family’s involvement in the film doesn’t stop there – their sisters Katia and Olivia Washington are also part of the project. Katia is an executive producer, while Olivia has an acting role in the film.
