Mam Yandey Joof, the hotelier and girlfriend of the deceased Benett Agyekum Adomah, also known as Kikibees, has been discharged by the Madina District Court following the advice of the Office of the Attorney General.
The prosecution informed the court that they had received advice from the Attorney General to discharge Joof, and she was visibly emotional, expressing her disbelief with tears in her eyes.
Magistrate Susana Nyarkotey announced that based on the advice dated February 8, 2024, Joof was found to have no fault and was therefore discharged.
Currently on GHC200,000 bail, Joof wept uncontrollably as she was hurriedly escorted by her relatives into a waiting vehicle. She had been facing a murder charge in connection with the death of her boyfriend, Kikibee, the owner of Kikibees Restaurant.
Kikibee had reportedly exhibited strange behavior at Joof’s apartment, prompting her and a friend to rush him to the hospital. Unfortunately, Kikibee passed away shortly thereafter.
