Celebrity Ghanaian chef Failatu Abdul-Razak, popularly known as Chef Faila, has officially launched her debut cookbook titled Authentic Ghanaian Cuisine.
The launch event took place at the Accra Tourism Information Centre and was attended by various dignitaries, including the Deputy Director of Domestic Marketing at the Ghana Tourism Authority, Kakra Kofi Atta Kusi, and the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Jones Aruna Nelson.
Chiefs from the Northern Region also graced the occasion to show their support.
In an interview with Channel One TV, Chef Faila shared the inspiration behind her cookbook, stating that the title Authentic Ghanaian Cuisine reflects her goal of promoting Ghanaian culture, and heritage, and creating job opportunities for the youth.
The cookbook is currently up for auction, with the final selling price to be determined by Chef Faila’s team after printing over 500 copies.
Chef Faila made headlines earlier this year with her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
The marathon took place from January 1st to January 10th at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, where she showcased her culinary skills by preparing a variety of traditional Ghanaian dishes.
Although Chef Faila did not break the official 119-hour record set by Alan Fisher, Guinness World Records commended her efforts and encouraged her to pursue future record attempts.
The event was not only about breaking records but also a celebration of Ghanaian culture, with rich cultural displays from the people of the Northern Region.
