In the world of music, Beyoncé is a force to be reckoned with. The 2025 Grammy Award nominations have just been announced, and Beyoncé, also known as “Cowboy Carter,” is dominating the field with a total of 11 nominations.
This brings her career total to an impressive 99 nominations, making her the most nominated artist in Grammy history.
Beyoncé’s nominations span a wide range of categories, from album and country album of the year to record, song, and country song of the year. This year marks her first time receiving nominations in the country and Americana categories, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
If Beyoncé wins album of the year, she will make history as the first Black woman to do so in the 21st century. The last Black woman to win the album of the year was Lauryn Hill in 1999 for “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”
In addition to Beyoncé, other notable artists receiving nominations include Post Malone, who earned his first-ever nominations in the country categories, and Kendrick Lamar, whose diss track “Not Like Us” has garnered multiple nominations.
The Recording Academy CEO and President, Harvey Mason Jr., attributes the diversity of genres represented in this year’s nominations to the Academy’s efforts in rebalancing its membership and ensuring equitable representation across different music genres.
