Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame, also known as Kwame Nsiah-Apau, has urged politicians in Ghana and across Africa to prioritize fighting corruption over focusing on LGBTQ issues.
The musician, popular for hits like ‘Ye Ko,’ believes that corruption has deeply rooted itself in every African country and addressing this issue is crucial for the continent’s progress.
Okyeame Kwame emphasized that Ghana could make significant advancements and become self-sufficient if efforts were concentrated on combating corruption. He expressed his disappointment in leaders who engage in debates about LGBTQ matters rather than tackling the pervasive issue of corruption.
The rapper highlighted the importance of education and advocated for a shift in focus towards STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) to foster creativity in African education systems. Okyeame Kwame stressed the need for African leaders to prioritize educational reforms and anti-corruption measures for the development of the continent.
Okyeame Kwame emphasized that LGBTQ issues are not as pressing as corruption, stating, “Between corruption and LGBTQ, which one is very pressing?”
