Ghanaian music sensation, Okyeame Kwame, recently revealed that he was approached to be the running mate for the Presidential Candidate of the Movement for Change party, John Alan Kyerematen.
In an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie, Okyeame Kwame disclosed that he met with Alan Kyerematen, who outlined ten criteria for his potential vice president. Despite meeting the requirements, Okyeame Kwame declined the offer, citing unpreparedness and familial considerations.
Explaining his decision, Okyeame Kwame mentioned that his teenage children were a priority, and he felt the need to prepare them for the potential challenges that come with partisan politics.

As a result of his refusal, Alan Kyerematen chose Kwame Owusu Danso, a member of the disbanded music group Echo, as his running mate. Kwame Owusu Danso is a lawyer, broadcaster, and PR consultant.
