South African music legend Yvonne Chaka Chaka recently shared her thoughts on the growing success of African musicians on the global music stage.

In an interview with JoyNews, she highlighted the recent collaborations between African artists and international music icons as a testament to the increasing recognition of African music worldwide.

“African music has definitely made its mark across the world. We’re seeing artists like Usher and others eager to collaborate with African musicians, and that’s a positive sign of the growth of our music,” Yvonne Chaka Chaka said.

Reflecting on the evolution of African music, the iconic singer emphasized the need for music to evolve with time. “When I started in 1985, music was very different.

We had legends like Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, and others. Music has changed over the years, with new genres like Kwaito in South Africa and now Amapiano,” she added.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka recently graced the stage at the African Legends Night concert in Ghana, where she performed alongside other African music luminaries such as Adane Best, Okyeame Kwame, and George Jahraa.
