The Founder of the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, Merqury Quaye, has expressed his dissatisfaction with a comment made by Kojo Manuel, a winner at this year’s edition of the awards.
Kojo Manuel, who won the Best MC/Hypeman category alongside MC Portfolio, voiced his disappointment at sharing the award, stating that he believed he was the sole winner.
In a recent interview on 3 Music TV, Kojo expressed his disbelief in ties, citing examples like elections where there is a clear winner. He also mentioned that he had not received any official explanation from the Ghana DJ Awards on why the tie occurred.
In response to Kojo’s comments, Merqury Quaye, the founder of the awards, expressed his disappointment in Kojo’s remarks. He highlighted the existence of ties in various competitions, including prestigious award shows like the Grammys and BET.
Mercury also questioned why Kojo did not raise similar concerns about previous awards he had won from the scheme.
