The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is gearing up to host the National Tourism Awards in order to recognize and reward excellence in the tourism sector.
This prestigious event is under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture and is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the historic Osu Castle.
Leading up to this grand ceremony, the regional offices of the Ghana Tourism Authority have already organized the Regional Tourism Awards from September 13 to September 28, 2024.
The National Tourism Awards serve to celebrate and acknowledge individuals and organizations within the tourism sector who have shown outstanding performance. The overarching theme for this year’s awards is “CELEBRATING INNOVATION AND RECOGNISING EXCELLENCE IN GHANA’S TOURISM SECTOR”.
A total of 38 awards will be presented, including 29 Competitive Awards, 7 Honorary Awards, and 2 Special Mention Awards, to deserving tourism establishments and personalities.
The Competitive Awards cover various categories such as Accommodation Services, Catering Services, Travel Services, Media, Events, and Corporate Organisations of the Year.
The Honorary Award recognizes those who have made exceptional contributions to the tourism industry in Ghana.
Established in 1997, the National Tourism Awards aim to acknowledge and reward industry players and stakeholders who have significantly contributed to the development of Ghana’s tourism industry.
In addition to honoring excellence, the awards also seek to set high standards in service delivery, promote healthy competition, and position Ghana as a premier tourist destination.
Dignitaries expected to attend the event include Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, the Diplomatic Community, Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and representatives from the Business Community.
