Renowned Ghanaian-American comedian, Michael Blackson, has hinted at a potential shift towards a political career.

In a recent tweet, Blackson expressed his keen interest in delving into politics to contribute to the development of his homeland, Ghana.

The announcement comes amidst a backdrop of tensions between Blackson and the NPP government regarding an alleged failed investment.

Blackson revealed that he had invested in Eurobonds to support the long-term sustainability of his school, the Michael Blackson Academy in Agona Nsaba.

However, the comedian lamented that his investment returns had been negatively impacted by the government’s debt restructuring efforts.

He criticized the Finance Ministry for offering bondholders unfavorable terms, including a significant cut with high interest rates over an extended period.

Despite facing financial setbacks, Blackson remains dedicated to running his academy, which aims to provide free education and uniforms to children from kindergarten to Basic 3.

The Michael Blackson Academy, established three years ago, continues to offer educational support to the local community despite funding challenges.
