As the 2024 general election approaches, both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been outlining their major promises related to the tourism, arts, and culture sector since 2012.
With pressure from the media and activists in the industry, these political parties have made commitments to support and enhance the creative economy in Ghana.
To shed light on these manifesto promises, Joy FM has compiled a comprehensive list that will be discussed in a Manifesto Debate on Creative Economy scheduled for September 7, 2024.
The live program will be broadcast on Joy FM and Joy Prime on September 14, 2024, from 2 PM to 6 PM.
Representing the NDC will be Sadiq Abdullai Abu, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikoi Central Constituency, and Rex Owusu Marfo, a Member of the NDC Manifesto Committee.
On the other side, the NPP will be represented by Mark Okraku-Mantey, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Akwasi Agyeman, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
The article also highlights the Creative Arts Promises made by the NDC in 2012, 2016, 2020, and the most recent promises for 2024.
These promises aim to support and grow the creative arts industry in Ghana, showcasing the parties’ dedication to fostering a thriving artistic and cultural sector.
