Iconic Ghanaian actress Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, celebrated her 80th birthday in grand style with a lavish event.
The veteran actress, who turned 80 in June 2024, marked the milestone by launching her book ‘Unforgettable Maame Dokono’ on Saturday, September 7.
The celebration, held at the Underbridge in East Legon, attracted a host of celebrities and dignitaries who came out to honor Maame Dokono.
Dressed in a stunning blue-sparkling outfit, the actress was surrounded by her former colleagues and industry peers as she cut the ceremonial cake.
The event, hosted by comedian DKB, was a glittering affair filled with joy and tributes to Maame Dokono’s illustrious career.
Guests in attendance included the likes of Nana Ama Mcbrown, David Dontoh, Prophet Kofi Oduro, Adwoa Smart, Abeiku Santana, and Christine Doe Tetteh, among others.
With a career spanning over five decades, Maame Dokono has captivated Ghanaian audiences with her exceptional acting talents.
She became a household name as the face of popular TV drama series such as Akan Drama and Obra Drama Group, and also starred in numerous movies.
In addition to her acting prowess, Maame Dokono hosted important radio and television talk shows that addressed social and human rights issues.
She even ventured into music, releasing three albums. Known for her compassion, Maame Dokono founded the Peace and Love orphanage to support orphaned and underprivileged children in Ghana.
