Atongo Zimba, a talented musician, recently shared his struggles to gain acceptance for his music at the start of his career.

He revealed that music patrons in Ghana were more interested in songs sung in Twi, focusing on gossip or women. Despite his songs carrying important messages and stories, they were not well-received in his home country.

Speaking on the show EVIBES with Becky, Zimba expressed that while Ghanaians at the time preferred songs in Twi and gossip-filled tunes, people from other countries appreciated the spirit, message, and energy he brought to his music.

He noted that foreign audiences valued the authenticity and heart put into the music, which ultimately led to a better life for him.

The E Vibes show, known for its unique and intimate interviews, aims to revive memories of influential personalities and the journey they took to success.

Since its launch in November 2020, the show has featured renowned global icons from the music, entertainment, and political spheres, all engaging with the vibrant host, Becky, who truly ‘gets the Vibes.’
